About Himayani Puri
Himayani Puri has spent thirty years as a value-oriented investor. Throughout her career spanning multiple market cycles and asset classes, she has focused on generating returns by identifying and analyzing dislocations and mispricings in the securities of high-quality companies as well as those undergoing corporate, industry, and technological change. Her approach has always been rooted in deep fundamental research – delving into primary sources and conducting field diligence to evaluate the quality and underlying economics of businesses as well as the incentives and motivations of their management teams. For the past two decades, she has also been entrusted with building and leading effective investment research efforts.
In 2018, Himayani joined First Manhattan, a $39 billion AUM investment firm with a 60+ year history of deploying a deep, fundamental, research-driven investment approach with a long-term lens. At First Manhattan, she serves as Head of Research, in which role she leads the Firm’s dedicated in-house Research team, comprised of experienced analysts with industry-focused expertise. She also serves as Portfolio Manager for proprietary vehicles as well as the firm’s active Excelsior ETFs.
Himayani is an alumna of the Jerome Fisher Management & Technology (M&T) dual-degree program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she matriculated at the age of 16 and was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.
